Hazaribagh is a city and a municipal corporation in Hazaribagh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is the divisional headquarters of North Chotanagpur division. It is considered as a health resort and is also popular for Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary (17 km from city). It is represented in the Indian Lok Sabha by its Member of Parliament Jayant Sinha.

Hazaribagh National Park(Opens in a new window)

Hazaribagh National Park, located 19 km from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, India and about 135 km from Ranchi is a national park and also a wildlife sanctuary. The park has tigers, panthers, sambhars, spotted deer, bisons and a number of mammalian faunas. The Cheetal, Kakar, Nilgai, Sambar and Wild Boar are among the most easily and often spotted animals particularly near the waterholes at the time of the dusk. The population of the tigers is very low - according to a 1991 Census, there were 14 tigers in the park. They are considered difficult to sight.

Hazaribag Wildlife Sanctuary(Opens in a new window)

Hazaribag or Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary in Jharkhand, India, about 55 mi north of Ranchi. It was established in 1955. Nestling in low hilly terrain, at an average altitude of 615 m, it has an area of 184 km2 and is home to leopards, panthers wild boars tigers, sambar, nilgai, chital, peafowl, sloth bears, black bears, hyenas and pigeons.
