The Toronto Zoo is a zoo located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Founded by Hugh A. Crothers, an industrialist who became the first Chairman of the Metro Toronto Zoological Society in 1966, the zoo opened on August 15, 1974 as the Metropolitan Toronto Zoo, or simply Metro Toronto Zoo, and is owned by the City of Toronto. The word "Metropolitan" was dropped from its name when the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto was amalgamated to the current city in 1998. The zoo is located near the Rouge River, along the western border of Rouge Park in the city's east end district of Scarborough.

The Scarborough Bluffs, also known as The Bluffs, is an escarpment in the Scarborough district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. There are nine parks along the bluffs, with Bluffers Park being the only one with beach access. Forming much of the eastern portion of Toronto's waterfront, Scarborough Bluffs stands above the shoreline of Lake Ontario. At its highest point, the escarpment rises 90 m above the coastline and spans a length of 15 km. It was first named in 1793.

The Parkwood Estate, located in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, was the residence of Samuel McLaughlin (founder of General Motors of Canada) and was home to the McLaughlin family from 1917 until 1972. The residence was designed by noted Toronto architectural firm Darling and Pearson, construction starting in 1916. In 1989, the Parkwood Estate was officially designated a National Historic Site of Canada, and tours are now given year-round.

The principal building in the park is the Guild Inn, a former inn and estate mansion.
