Mindelo is a port city in the northern part of the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde. Mindelo is also the seat of the parish of Nossa Senhora da Luz, and the municipality of São Vicente. The city is home to 93% of the entire island's population. Mindelo is known for its colourful and animated carnival celebrations, with roots in Portuguese traditions later influenced by the Brazilian culture.

Farol de D. Luis, also known as Farol do Ilhéu dos Pássaeros Lighthouse (Farol do Ilhéu dos Pássaros) or Farol de Porto Grande (Porto Grande Lighthouse), former form: Farol de D. Luís is a lighthouse located in the island of Ilhéu dos Pássaros in the area separating the Porto Grande Bay and Canal de São Vicente, it is located west of Ponta João Ribeiro in the island of São Vicente in northwestern Cape Verde and is somewhere 3.5 km northwest of the center of Mindelo. It sits atop the highest point on the islet and the building is higher than the highest point of the islet. It may be a lighthouse built at the highest location in Cape Verde. It is accessed only by a pathway and a small boat at a tiny port located in the east facing Monte Cara.

Centro Nacional de Artesanato (the National Artisan's Center), also known as De Arte Tradicional (Traditional art) is a museum and an exposition located at Praça Nova in Mindelo on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde between Ruas 5 de Julho and Argelia (named after Algeria) which features qualification from Cape Verdean craftsmen. It also serves prominence in workmanship in paintings, ceramics, fabrics of batique and wooden works as well as carpet-like art and pictures, one of them made by Bela Duarte.

Farol de D. Amélia, also known as farol da ponta Machado (Ponta Machado Lighthouse) or farol de São Pedro is a lighthouse in the southwestern point of the island of São Vicente in northwestern Cape Verde approximately 3 km west of the village of São Pedro, it is in the westernmost part of the small hill range dominating the island's westernmost part. It is accessed via the resort named Foya Branca (which in the early 2010s added more villas) and continues by a pathway which contains stairways about 2 km long.

Farol de Fontes Pereira de Melo, better known as farol da ponta de Tumba ou do Tumbo (Tumba/Tumbo Lighthouse) or the Boi Lighthouse (farol de Boi) is a lighthouse in the northeastern point of the island of Santo Antão in northwestern Cape Verde near the settlement of Janela, it is located 10 km southeast of Vila das Pombas and 14.7 km norhtheast of Porto Novo. It is in the area of the island's easternmost part of the mountain range and belongs to Cova-Ribeira da Torre-Paul Natural Park. Its offers panoramic views of the island of São Vicente to the south.
