Prokletije, also known as the Albanian Alps (Alpet Shqiptare) and the Accursed Mountains, is a mountain range on the western Balkan peninsula, extending from northern Albania to Kosovo and eastern Montenegro. Its peak in Albania, Maja Jezercë at 2694 m, is the highest point, and the 2nd highest peak in Albania and the highest in the entire Dinaric Alps.

Theth (Thethi) is a community in the former Shalë, Albania. Following the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Shkodër, and has been declared a Protected Historic Center by the Albanian Government. The community is at the centre of the Theth National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The Valbonë Valley National Park (Albanian: Parku Kombëtar Lugina e Valbonës), also known as the Albanian Miracle of the Alps or the Gem of Albania, is a national park inside the Albanian Alps in the northern corner of Albania, that encompasses 80 km2 of mountainous terrain, with numerous rivers, lakes, caves, canyons, dense coniferous and deciduous forest. It was established on 15 January 1996 to protect several ecosystems and biodiversity of national and international importance, as well as the cultural and historical heritage of the area. The park encompasses the upper section of the Valbonë valley and Valbonë river, that are noted for its morphology, landscape, forests, biodiversity and vegetation and lies between high and craggy peaks bordering on the Theth National Park, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Gashi river, Plav and Gusinje.

The Theth National Park (Albanian: Parku Kombëtar i Thethit) is a national park in northern Albania, which encompasses the larger part of the Shala Valley inside the Albanian Alps, spanning an area of 2630 ha. The national park was established to protect ecosystems and biodiversity of national importance, as well as the cultural, historical and folklore heritage of the region.
