Snowmass (ski area)(Opens in a new window)

Snowmass is a part of the Aspen/Snowmass ski resort complex located in Snowmass Village near the town of Aspen, Colorado. It is owned and operated by the Aspen Skiing Company. It was opened on December 17, 1967. Snowmass is the largest of the four Aspen/Snowmass mountains, comprising 3128 acre. The mountain is most notable for its wide cruiser runs, family-friendly atmosphere, and extensive ski-in/ski-out lodging. Despite its family reputation, the resort also contains several terrain parks, extensive extreme skiing terrain, mogul runs, and gladed terrain. Snowmass has undergone massive changes in the past few years, including a new gondola along with a new Base Village. Snowmass has also constructed a new restaurant near Elk Camp, replacing Cafe Suzanne with a large, brand new restaurant. Today, Snowmass continues its extensive improvements to on-mountain infrastructure as well as lift repairs.

Maroon Creek Bridge(Opens in a new window)

The original Maroon Creek Bridge is a steel trestle along State Highway 82 at the western boundary of Aspen, Colorado, United States. It was designed by George S. Morison in 1888 for the Colorado Midland Railroad, one of the last viaducts in Colorado built for a standard gauge mountain railroad in the 19th century. Of the five steel bridges the Midland built, it is the only one still extant. Due to the later removal of most track and the rail depots, the bridge is the most visible remnant of rail service to Aspen. In 1985 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places along with other highway bridges in the state, including the Sheely Bridge, also in Aspen.

McNulty Reservoir Dam(Opens in a new window)

McNulty Reservoir Dam in Eagle County, Colorado, United States, sits 2,438 m above sea level in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains between Rifle, Colorado and Vail, Colorado and 11km outside El Jebel, Colorado. The Dam is a water storage that used to be utilized for ranching purposes on the historic Mcnulty Ranch. The reservoir and dam are named for Eagle County, Colorado's McNulty family of cattle ranchers. The McNulty's have been Eagle County, Colorado settlers from the 1880s and cattle ranchers there from the 1920s. A portion of their McNulty Ranch, a one time 2500 acre cattle ranch operation on the Eagle-Garfield County line, was sold for Open Space conservation to Eagle county in 2006 for approximately $2 million. It is closed to any public access, fishing, or recreation.
