Haad Rin is a peninsular beach area and town on the southern tip of Ko Pha Ngan, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. Its two main beaches are Sunset Beach (Haad Rin Nai) to the south and the larger Sunrise Beach (Haad Rin Nok) to the north. The famous Full Moon Party takes place on Sunrise Beach each month.

Wat Phra Yai(Opens in a new window)

Wat Phra Yai, known in English as the Big Buddha Temple, is a Buddhist temple on Ko Phan (also spelled Koh Fan or Koh Faan), a small island offshore from the northeastern area of Ko Samui, Thailand, connected to that island by a short causeway 3 km north of Samui International Airport. As its name indicates, it is home to a giant, 12 m gold-painted Buddha statue. Since being built in 1972, it has become one of Ko Samui's main tourist attractions and a major landmark.

Than Sadet–Ko Pha-ngan (Thai: ธารเสด็จ-เกาะพะงัน) is a national park in southern Thailand, protecting 65.93 km2 mostly on the island Pha-ngan. The park was established on December 31, 1983. It covers an area of 39.12 km2, and was enlarged to its present size on February 10, 1999.
