Faro is a municipality, the southernmost city and capital of the district of the same name, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. Cathedral of Faro(Opens in a new window)

The Cathedral of Faro (Portuguese: Sé de Faro) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Faro, Portugal. The cathedral was consecrated in the name of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the late 13th century by the Archbishop of Braga. It has been the seat of the Diocese of Faro since 1540, replacing Silves Cathedral on the orders of King John III of Portugal. In 1596 it was sacked by the Earl of Essex. The cathedral is a National Monument of Portugal.

Estádio Algarve(Opens in a new window)

The Estádio Algarve is an association football stadium located between Faro and Loulé, in Portugal and the former home of Farense and Louletano, having received some Olhanense and Portimonense matches during their respective stadiums' works of renovation. The Estádio Algarve is also the temporary home ground of the Gibraltar national football team and it also hosts the final match of the Algarve Cup, a major annual international tournament in women's football. From 2004 to 2013, Louletano shared the stadium with Sporting Clube Farense.

The Roman Ruins of Cerro da Vila are the remnants of a historical villa in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. Its vestiges lie in the vicinity of the resort and marina of Vilamoura, in the civil parish of Quarteira, municipality of Loulé Municipality.

Tavira Island(Opens in a new window)

Tavira Island (Portuguese: Ilha de Tavira) lies south of the town of Tavira, Portugal, just a few hundred metres off the coast. It is 11 kilometres long and varies between 150 m to 1 km in width. The island has 11 km of the best beaches in the Algarve, including areas where naturism can be legally practised. It is part of the Natural reserve of Ria Formosa. It is also popular among tourists, people that like to swim and bird watchers. Access to the island is by ferry from Quatro Águas, southeast of the city of Tavira, and also by a small floating bridge in the Santa Luzia/Pedras d'El Rei area, followed by a small train trip (operating during the summer months) or by foot in a footpath parallel to the railway line (c. 2 km).
