Mahmutlar is a neighbourhood of the municipality and district of Alanya, Antalya Province, Turkey. Its population is 53,034 (2022). It lies 10 km east of Alanya. Before the 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (belde). The town has been transformed by the building of holiday homes and apartments for European tourists. Roads and services have been improved to cater for the growing tourist industry.

Constructed between 1996 and 2007, the development was backed by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works. The primary purpose of the dam is water supply and it provides water for the irrigation of 5312 ha. Additionally, the dam supplies a 38 MW hydroelectric power plant with water.

It contains numerous ceramic, marble, bronze and glass pieces and mosaics from the Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods. Of particular note is its 2nd century bronze statue of Hercules, which measures 52 cm in height. The museum, which was established in 1967, was refurbished in 2012.
