Jaysingpur is a city and a municipal council in Kolhapur district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The city got the name from Raja Jaysing, father of Shrimant Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur who developed the city and planned the city with its great architecture, Jaysingpur is known as one of the planned city in maharashtra where you can get all roads which meets in 90° and this is designed by Shahu Maharaj. This city was established in 1916 and it celebrated its 100th anniversary in September 2016. Rekha Arjun Deshmukh is current Mayor of city. The city is famous for the tobacco market which is one of the biggest in the country. The city used to house production units of notable Gutkhas and tobacco in the region.
