Arakkonam is a railway town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, also known as the Hail storm of Tamilnadu and oldest town in tamil history, with a population of about 78,395 as per the census 2011. This city is located in the newly created Ranipet district about 54 km from the Ranipet headquarter and about 69 km from the state capital of Chennai. It is Suburban area of Chennai.
