Amsterdam may be small but it packs a mighty punch. The Dutch capital is the epitome of cool – take a bike tour around the city, go for a canal cruise through picturesque neighbourhoods or set up with a picnic and a spot of people watching in Vondelpark. Culture aficionados will enjoy a day at the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, while history buffs will definitely want to visit the Anne Frank House. Drink a Dutch beer in trendy Leidseplein, witness a display of ‘total football’ at an Ajax Amsterdam game and dig into some distinctly Dutch food like poffertjes, bitterballen and stroopwafels.
