Northbrook Gate(Opens in a new window)

The Northbrook Gate (Assamese: নৰ্থব্ৰুক গেট) was constructed to welcome British viceroy Lord Northbrook who visited Guwahati in 1874. The gate was built near Sukreswar Ghat where the viceroy anchored his ship. It is the only monument of its kind in this part of Assam and the lone surviving brick architecture from colonial times. For the last 140 years, it has remained a silent spectator of many developments of Guwahati.

Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden(Opens in a new window)

The Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden (popularly known as Guwahati Zoo) is the largest of its kind in the North East region and it is spread across 432 acre (175 hectare). The zoo is located within the Hengrabari Reserved Forest at Guwahati, India. The zoo is home to about 895 animals, birds and reptiles representing almost 113 species of animals and birds from around the world.

Nehru Stadium (Assamese: নেহৰু ষ্টেডিয়াম), is a multi-purpose stadium in Guwahati, Assam, India and managed by the Board of Sports, Government of Assam. Radha Govinda Baruah supervised, constructed and named the stadium as Nehru Stadium. It is used both for football and cricket matches. The stadium holds 15,000 people at most and was built in 1962. So far it hosted 14 One Day Internationals matches and many matches of top domestic cricket tournaments like Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and Deodhar Trophy. In football it regularly hosts prestigious Bordoloi Trophy. The stadium also hosted Santosh Trophy and Federation Cup tournaments.

Saraighat (Pron: ˌʃəraɪˈgɑ:t) is a neighborhood in the Indian city of Guwahati, on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra. Sarai was a small village where the old abandoned N.F. Railway station of Amingaon was located. The famous Battle of Saraighat was fought near this place on the river.
