Courtenay, Canada(opens in a new window)

Courtenay is a city of about 26,000 on the east coast of Vancouver Island, in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is the largest community and only city in the area commonly known as the Comox Valley, and the seat of the Comox Valley Regional District, which replaced the Comox-Strathcona Regional District. Courtenay is 4 km west of the town of Comox, 7 km northeast of the village of Cumberland, 5 km northwest of the unincorporated settlement of Royston, and 108 km northwest of Nanaimo. Along with Nanaimo and Victoria, it is home to The Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary's), a Primary Reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Mount Washington Alpine Resort(Opens in a new window)

Mount Washington Alpine Resort is an alpine skiing ski resort located on Mount Washington on the eastern edge of the Vancouver Island Ranges in British Columbia, Canada. The nearest communities are those in the Comox Valley, a 3–3.5 hour drive North from the capital of Victoria, British Columbia.

Comox Air Force Museum(Opens in a new window)

The Comox Air Force Museum collects, preserves, interprets and exhibits artifacts relating to CFB Comox, its squadrons and its units. The museum is located at the main gate of CFB Comox, located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The museum opened its doors in the current location 12 September 1987. In addition to the exhibits, the museum has an aviation reference library and an aviation art gallery. The Heritage Air Park where the aircraft are on display is located 500 metres down the road from the museum as is the Y2K Spitfire restoration hangar.

Lazo Wildlife Park(Opens in a new window)

Lazo Wildlife Park is a protected area on eastern Vancouver Island in the Comox Valley Regional District(CVRD). It lies at the north end of Lazo Marsh and its entrance is at the end of Sand Pines Drive in Comox. Part of the park lies on the Comox Sandhills in which the forest contains a large proportion of Shore Pine. Douglas-Fir, Western White Pine and Western Red Cedar are prominent among the other tree species present. Bird life is dominated by nesting populations of ducks and geese. Soils in the area were mapped in 1959 as Arrowsmith peat and Kye-Custer complex of rapidly to imperfectly drained sandy podzols.

Sid Williams Theatre(Opens in a new window)

The Sid Williams Theatre is the major performance theatre in the Comox Valley, Canada. It is located in downtown Courtenay, British Columbia. The theatre was first called 'The Gaiety Theatre' in the 1920s. It was then called 'The Bickle Theatre' in the 1930s. It was originally opened as a movie theatre. The stage of the Bickle Theatre was used for plays and musical events before it became an auction house. In 1998, the theatre closed for extensive renovations and earthquake upgrading. The current technical director is Patrick Emery; he has won numerous lighting design awards for his work with the Courtenay Little Theatre.
