Juchitepec, Mexico(opens in a new window)

Juchitepec is a municipality in State of Mexico in central Mexico. The municipal seat is the city of Juchitepec de Mariano Rivas. Juchitepec means “Hill of the Flowers” in Nahuatl. The municipality covers an area of 149.56 km2. It has one major community outside the seat called San Matias Cuijingo. The municipality is located at the southwest of the state, and borders the municipalities of Tenango del Aire, Tepetlixpa, Ozumba and Ayapango in the State of Mexico, and with Totolapan and Tlalnepantla in the state of Morelos to the south, and the borough of Milpa Alta in Mexico City to the west. A large part of the population is employed in commerce. Other major economic activities include agriculture and livestock. As of the 2010 census, the municipality had a total population of 23,497 inhabitants.

Tlayacapan (Spanish ) is a town and a municipality located in the northeast part of Morelos state in central Mexico. It is located 60 km east from the state capital of Cuernavaca and about 1.5 hours south of Mexico City. It is a rural area, whose way of life has not changed much over the 20th century, with 90% of its population still partially or fully dependent on agriculture. The town has old mansions, houses with red tile roofs and streets paved with stones. Many ravines crisscross the area and are crossed by numerous stone bridges.

The Paso de Cortés is the mountain pass or saddle between the Popocatépetl and Ixtaccíhuatl volcanoes in central México. It thus forms part of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, and is a place where the normally southeast-tending continental divide heads north for over 10 miles. The altitude of the pass is about 3400 m. (11,150 ft.) It is located in the Municipality of Amecameca in the State of Mexico.
