How To Book Renfe Train Tickets

How can I purchase train tickets in Spain?

We now offer direct Renfe bookings at Rome2rio. It’s easy!

Step 1: Visit our home page www.rome2rio.com and begin by entering your origin and destination. Then click “Search”.

Step 2: Using the interactive menu, select ‘Train’ as your method of transport.

Step 3: Select either ‘One way’ or ‘Return Trip’, and choose your preferred travel dates and times, and number of passengers. Then select ‘Find tickets’.

Step 4: Find your preferred train by sorting the results by time/price. If you would like to view the available fare types (non-flex, semi-flex, flexible) or travel in more comfort (for example premium 2nd class/1st class) simply click on the ‘modify’ button on your preferred train and choose from the right option from drop-down menu. Click ‘Select’ on your chosen train to proceed.

Step 5: Choose your seat preference, if any. The train operator is responsible for your exact seat allocation, and we cannot guarantee that they will be able to match your preferences, as it is subject to availability. To view your allocated seat number(s) before completing your booking, view the instructions listed in Step 7.

Step 6: Enter the passenger details, then click ‘Continue’.

Step 7: You will now proceed to the payment page. If you wish to check the seat numbers that are automatically allocated by Renfe, you can now do so by clicking ‘More details’ in the booking summary. Your seating numbers will then appear in the drop-down section.

Step 8: Enter your billing address and payment information. We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners Club.

Step 9: If you agree with the terms and conditions, click ‘Buy Ticket’.

Step 10: You will immediately receive an on-screen 6-character Renfe booking reference, and you will shortly receive an email from us with your print-at-home eTickets. Occasionally these emails might get placed in your Junk Mail or Spam folder by your mail system. Please check those folders for tickets@rome2rio.com just in case.
