How do I collect my Amtrak ticket?

We provide two options to collect your ticket: eTicket (by email), or collect from an Amtrak station. Thankfully, almost all Amtrak tickets are available as eTickets, which can easily be printed from home making it more convenient than ever.

If you have chosen to collect your ticket from an Amtrak station, most major stations offer ticket vending machines to print your tickets. You will need a payment card to activate the machine as well as your reservation number. Alternatively, you can collect your tickets from a ticket office at any staffed Amtrak station.

Why can’t the ticket vending machine find my ticket?

Tickets are normally available to print 15 minutes after your online booking is complete, but it can take up to 2 hours.

Begin by inserting any payment card into the machine. If you are using the same payment card used in your Rome2rio booking, your reservation will be retrieved automatically. However, if you are using a different payment card, you will need to enter additional information, such as your reservation number, or train number, or your destination. Follow any additional prompts.

Payment cards accepted by the Amtrak ticket vending machines: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Diner’s Club.

Who do I contact if I have issues collecting my ticket?

If you are still having problems, please contact us at tickets@rome2rio.com. Make sure to include your full name and as many details about your Rome2rio booking as possible. We’ll get back to you as quickly as we can, but if it is urgent, such as on the day of travel, we recommend you speak with the station staff directly.
